TradeCard August 2007 Release
TradeCard April 2007 Release
TradeCard is pleased to announce the August 2007 release of enhancements to the TradeCard Platform. The new product enhancements for freight logistics and work in progress address visibility blind spots that often exist in today's extended supply chain.
The enhancements help customers automate sourcing, logistics and supply chain finance processes to better control the movement of goods across multiple supply chain partners, from raw materials through shipment and logistics.
Enhancements to the TradeCard system improve functionality and provide greater flexibility. They include:
- Freight invoice reconciliation & payment
- Enhanced inbound logistics tracking
- Improved WIP functionality
Freight Invoice:
Freight invoices can be an accounts payable nightmare. Processes are often manual and paper based, including freight and contract document checks. Manual processes lead to untimely payments, missing or incorrect charges, un-reviewed documents and lack of payment visibility to freight providers. Lack of visibility prevents companies from knowing when to expect payment and if it will be accurate.
TradeCard takes a proactive approach to freight logistics by offering pre-payment audit tools - opposed to post payment services. TradeCard is a single platform for managing freight that offers proof of delivery, shipment tracking and freight payment processing and payment. It automates the reconciliation between the freight invoice and the freight contract, identifying any rate discrepancies or unauthorized charges. Additionally, freight invoice data is checked against shipment data to ensure invoicing accuracy. Documents are routed internally to correct users and departments for rapid approval.
Visibility is extended into invoice and payment cycle for both buyer and freight provider. TradeCard enables discrepancies to be negotiated online with freight providers and automates feeds to accounts payable systems. Functionality for early payment discounts and chargeback automation are inserted into the freight logistics process through TradeCard.
Enhanced Supplier Enablement:
It's a major challenge to capture the true structure of a shipment: from packing items in cartons, cartons on pallets, and packing & shipping units into a container. Taking control of packing, shipment building and ASN creation requires automation and visibility.
TradeCard introduced Supplier Enablement in April of 2007 to automate packing, shipment building and ASN creation, and new enhancements are based on customer feedback. Supplier Enablement features new navigation and other usability enhancements. It provides enhanced scanning options based on factory capabilities and extends level of control by the buyer. Enhanced Supplier Enablement allows better support for packing and shipping processes that occur overtime.
Enhanced Inbound Logistics Tracking:
Tracking the movement of goods in-transit involves updates from multiple parties, which can be painful without automation and collaborative tools in place. The Inbound Logistics Tracking enhancement offers a more streamlined approach to managing shipment status updates provided by LSPs, carriers and brokers. Enhanced Inbound Logistics Tracking offers better support for domestic shipments via multiple status and location updates.
Enhanced Work in Progress (WIP):
The pressures of today's demand-driven economy require a single view of the supply chain and capabilities to maximize work in progress data. Work in progress tracking tools require customization and granular filters for paring down data.
TradeCard continues to enhance its collaboration tools for WIP. The latest features include enhanced filters to better identify data, new function rules, and enhanced reporting and query tools. WIP enhancements provide customizable filters to help suppliers and buyers quickly find the best set of data. Function-based population rules enable creation of robust worksheet features. Enhanced reporting and query features provide improved usability and customization.

Transportation management capabilities enable users to control physical and financial aspects of the supply chain and receive status information across logistics providers. The addition of in-transit visibility to the product suite enables buyers to reduce order-to-delivery cycles and optimize inventory levels by providing a single, seamless view into the entire lifecycle of the product from PO to receipt of goods.

Enhanced Supplier Scorecards provide a data management platform that automates the creation and issuance of scorecards electronically to suppliers. Rich visualization of data and metrics managed on the TradeCard Platform are dissected to support specific initiatives for growth, improved customer satisfaction, speed to market and product quality. Buyers can easily view trends in supplier performance and identify strategic suppliers.
Enhanced Supplier Enablement
Supplier Enablement creates complex advanced shipment notices (ASNs) with full packing and shipment details from shipment down to SKU level data. Users can get goods in stores faster and maintain customer satisfaction, sell goods at full price and avoid stock-outs.
