A Technical Overview of TradeCard
TradeCard is a secure, web-based system that was designed with a focus on security, global flexibility, scalability
and ease of integration.
Companies only need basic Internet connectivity and a web browser to access the system. However companies with
sophisticated ERP systems can easily integrate to minimize impact on their existing business processes. There is no
hardware or software to install.
A Global Secure Site Certificate affirms that users are using the valid TradeCard system via the TradeCard web site.
The Global Secure Site ID provides client browsers with the highest-level communications encryption (128-bit)
available. A combination of a username, password, and a smart card system handle user authentication.
TradeCard uses digital signatures to authenticate electronic data and to verify that a specific user has created an
electronic document. Members are required to generate a unique digital key pair each time they log on to the
TradeCard system.
TradeCard is a secure, hosted platform, offering an inexpensive solution for centralizing, standardizing and sharing
data. XML provides the TradeCard system with the tool for translating and integrating data from disparate business
systems. The TradeCard XML schema can be easily mapped to your data and that of your partners. This ensures a free
exchange of documents regardless of format or application.
Depending on the IT skills and resources available, TradeCard offers integration options suitable for the
environment.
The Simplest Option: Use a Web Browser
Browser-based integration allows your organization to upload and download documents via a standard web browser. No
testing or implementation plan required. Ideal for environments with few IT resources.
Minimize Change: Integrate to existing systems
Using our data-mapping engine, we can configure TradeCard to exchange documents with your existing systems in any
format (EDI, flat files, non-TradeCard XML, etc.) TradeCard has over 40 documents available at more than 70 events
for exchange with members' systems (such as ERP and cash management) including Procurement, Fulfillment, Payment, and
Workflow documents.
Message-based integration involves customized data maps and workflow configured to your specifications. If you
opt for message-based integration, you will be assigned a project manager who will work with your organization to
develop a plan for testing and implementation.
