Crain's New York Business selects TradeCard as one of New York's 5 most promising VC-backed companies

New York, December 15, 2003. TradeCard, the end-to-end financial supply chain service provider, has been selected as one of the five most promising venture capital-backed companies in the New York City area.

The selection, by Crain's New York Business, was made in close cooperation with the National Venture Capital Association. Nominations were solicited both from the association's members and from Crain's readership. A broad range of sectors was included in the search for promising young companies, including biotechnology, health care, financial services, business services, education, media, software and telecommunications. Among the criteria evaluated for the 'Top 5' winners were: size of business opportunity offered; the validity of the product; the competitive landscape; the strength of the management team; and the amount of venture capital backing.

According to Crain's New York Business, TradeCard is not the only company that dreams of bringing global trade online, but it may be the only one that addresses all the steps of the procurement process.

"We are very proud to have been selected by Crain's New York business as one of the winners. This reinforces our view that we are on the right track to providing exactly the kind of service our customers most want and need," said Kurt Cavano, chairman and CEO of TradeCard, Inc.

He added, "We are extremely lucky in having Warburg Pincus as the provider of TradeCard's funding. Instead of trying to raise more capital, the management team and I can spend all our time concentrating on strategy and aggressively building up the business. This is essential to creating a successful and sustainable company."

TradeCard was also selected as "Best Online Trade Finance and Logistics Provider" by Global Finance Magazine in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
