JARDINE LOGISTICS TO OFFER FREIGHT FORWARDING SERVICES TO TRADECARD MEMBERS
Hong Kong, August 7, 2001 - TradeCard, Inc., a financial supply chain services provider today
announced a partnership agreement with Hong Kong-based Jardine Logistics, which provides physical supply chain
management solutions to companies throughout Asia. Jardine Logistics is part of the multi-national Jardine Matheson
Group. TradeCard's patented service for online transaction management and financial settlement enables buyers and
sellers around the world to conduct domestic and cross-border trade transactions securely over the Internet.
Under the terms of the agreement, TradeCard members will be able to select Jardine Logistics' shipment and
distribution services directly from the TradeCard system once they have negotiated for the purchase and shipment of
goods. This will allow TradeCard members to benefit from Jardine Logistics' total logistics offerings, including
global integrated forwarding, special freight, warehousing and distribution, and supply chain management.
"The Jardine name is synonymous with trade and we are delighted to have them as partners," said Kurt Cavano,
TradeCard Chairman and CEO. In today's market, delivering value to customers is all that matters and together,
Jardine and TradeCard deliver huge value."
This is how the cooperative process will work: Jardine Logistics will send proof of delivery documents
electronically to the TradeCard system once goods have been shipped. These documents will then be compared to the
original purchase contract agreed upon by the buyer and seller through TradeCard's patented compliance engine. If
these documents match, TradeCard's global payment provider will transfer payment for the shipment from the buyer's
account to the seller's account. In the event the documents are not in compliance, the buyer and seller can
negotiate the discrepancies online at no additional cost and then continue to settlement.
"Jardine has been firmly rooted in international trade for more than a century" said Robert Wong, Director of
Jardine Logistics. "We know our customers and have heard their calls for technology that could link together our
logistics services with their trade-related payment flows. After researching many companies that said they could do
this, we've chosen to join forces with TradeCard, which has proven itself a leader in providing financial supply
chain services."
TradeCard provides a powerful online alternative to the complex system of trade settlement that has developed over
the centuries, by aggregating trade service providers critical to online trade transactions, such as global payment
and foreign exchange services, credit scoring and assurance of payment, rating and inspection services, and pre- and
post-export financing. TradeCard's agreement with Jardine Logistics enhances this network by providing TradeCard
members access to Jardine Logistics services.
